YET… Barclays routinely ignores letters of complaint, when it does ‘reply’ It merely ‘responds’ but again ignores the complaint! When that fails it writes refusing to even ‘respond’ to further letters. These tactics are clearly meant to frustrate the complainant. From 1996 to date Barclays has refused to correspond further with Mr Stewart on a number of different occasions, the last being a letter dated 13/11/00.
We ask Barclays’ customers and staff to question the management at their own branch of Barclays about the following:
1) Did Barclays deliberately put customers such as Mr Stewart at risk with unsafe lending?
2) Did Barclays have an improper relationship with a firm of Receivers that it appointed to act for Mr Stewart?
3) Has Barclays unlawfully held onto thousands of pounds that should have passed to Mr Stewart from the Receivers?
4) Did solicitors acting for Barclays ‘back-date’ Important correspondence to Mr Stewart?
5) Did the same solicitors go to the High Court a day early and wrongly obtain judgement for £265,000 against Mr & Mrs Stewart?
6) Was Barclays responsible for a County Court Summons issued against Mr Stewart’s 9 year-old son?
7) Did Barclays try and renege on an agreement made in the High Court, in 1998?
8) Did Senior staff from Barclays Head Office, swear at, abuse and threaten Mr Stewart?
9) Was the manager of Mr Stewart’s branch of Barclays Bank In Derby Jailed for 4 years for fraud?
10) Did Barclays write to a Member of the Cabinet in 1998 saying that it “wished to settle Mr Stewart’s dispute amicably”?
11) Will Barclays confirm that between that date and the present time (2001) It has made not a single proposal to settle the matter. Far from ‘resolving matters’ it made them worse – as the events of 1999 revealed
12) Why were bank accounts containing loans of £100,000 (or more) still open In August 1999. Can Barclays confirm that these accounts were only closed after Mr Stewart discovered their existence by accident?
13) Will Barclays apologise and offer compensation?
